VO is an OTT / VOD streaming service that consists of Mobile apps for iOS/Android, Web apps as well as apps for TV platforms (Samsung, LG, Android TV, Apple TV)
Launched on November 01, 2021, it offers a library of films and television series through distribution deals as well as its productions, known as VO Video Production.

About challenges

In January 2021, VO Production was looking for a streaming technology platform that could offer to users various libraries of Movies and TV shows on Mobile, Web, and TV devices.
After researching several companies, VECTO DIGITAL agency was chosen to build and develop their idea from scratch.
The project’s goal was to allow amateur and professional artists to showcase their art through the platform and motivate consumers to be aspiring users, create their videos, and easily showcase them in VO.
The challenge was to launch the MVP operational version of the Mobile applications 6 months after the works started.

VO Production 01 VO Production 03 VO Production 05 VO Production 02 VO Production 04 VO backend system based on a microservice scalable architecture that can serve hundreds of thousands of simultaneous user and video playbacks. We created functionality for VO to create movies as well as the TV series with seasons and episodes. We created a one-time and recurring subscription functionality for the users to watch the premium content in the app. We created a specific streaming service on AWS which all Videos have been decoding into VO required format and quality. We created Community functionality as well as the messaging system in the application for the users.

How we did

2021- present

We applied industry standards QA assurance methodologies to ensure the client peace of mind and ultimate quality of the delivered product From day 1st our team was available 24/7 for VO Production and set up smooth communication channels during the product development, which helped both VO and VECTO to be on the same page with the ongoing and upcoming features. We use the SCRUM / Agile project management methodology, which helped us deliver the apps as fast as they can be and address customer everchanging requirements. We created a dedicated team consisting of a Product Manager, Project Manager, UX/UI Designers, DevOps engineers, Backend developers, Mobile and Web developers, QA engineers to start and run the project. At the active phase, a total of 12 team members of VECTO were involved in the development process.

Result

The app MVP functional version was delivered within 6 months after kicking off. Within the first 2 months after the launch, VO App gained more than 10.000 unique registered users, and out of each more than 500 premium subscribed users.

Monetization of the content started from the 1st day of the launch.

Now we continuously do the app improvement and add new features.

As a result, VECTO delivered a cutting-edge product that was the centerpiece of a multinational campaign and a critical tool for the Business, Art, and Young aspiring generation.
